How to Write an Optimized Article
You look for a keyword phrase that has less than 5,000 results on Google. For instance, if you typed in “dog training” you’d see there are something like 12,400,000 pages out there about dog training – too much competition. But key in the phrase "how to train your dog to walk on a leash" and you see there are only 2,400 pages out there. If there are paid ads for this phrase, you’re in business.
So if you write and article about how to train your dog to walk on a leash and then recommend a product to help them train their dog, then upload it to one of the sites listed above, you’ve got a winner. (Click the link for more information on Keyword Research.)
To further optimize your article, make sure your keyword phrase is in the title of your article. (This is very important – both to Google and the people who have keyed in that phrase looking for information.) Be creative. Asking questions in your title is a great way to keep them reading. For instance, a good title would be “Want to know how to train your dog to walk on a leash?”
Then use your keyword phrase two of three times in your article (not too many or Google and your potential reader will think you’re spamming them.) A great way to get at least one occurrence of your keyword in your article is to end the article with a line like, ‘And now you know how to train your dog on a leash’ or something along those lines.
