Be an eBayer !

Did you know every day, approximately $86 million in sales are made on eBay®? And did you know every day, about 2 million people shop on eBay®, buying things they wouldn't be able to find in stores, or to sell things they don't want or use any more. But did you further know,

There were an estimated 720,000 people last year
who ran full or part-time eBay® businesses
right from their homes? These are regular people -
working at home using eBay® sales for income.

What makes eBay® so profitable? Why does everyone want to have an eBay® business? Because its simple to use and setup, anyone with a computer, an internet connection, and an email address and product can do it. Since it's beginning, eBay® has been an easy way for folks to earn money from home. Because the site is geared for the technically challenged (like me), there's usually not a huge learning curve to get started. Setting up sales is not that difficult. However, doing so while you minimize your seller fees and maximize your income is a little more taxing.

Many people think that in order to be a successful seller on eBay®, you need to have tons of capital and a lot of storage space. This is not the case at all. The secret to success on eBay® is finding products that are in demand and will sell, locating a reliable wholesale supplier, and learning how to put up auction pages that really sell, but will save you money on fees and increase your profits. Simple right?

Now you're probably thinking what am I going to sell on eBay®? What will give me a decent profit? How can I figure out what people are looking to buy?  In a word - Research.  It won't cost you anything but a little time. First think of things you have or plan to sell - make a list. Keep in mind you're going to have to ship this stuff (in other words that old piano in the garage may not be your first item of choice . . . though you'll want to get to that).

After that you'll want to see what sort of prices your items typically bring. eBay® will let you search listings for auctions that are already completed. Look up the products you were planning to sell. This gives you a good idea how to price your item and you can see the different sale pages and study the ones that received the highest bids.

Sooner or later your garage, basement and attic are going to be empty; you've sold everything that wasn't nailed down and you need to find a new reliable source for saleable merchandise.   Wholesale Suppliers provide you with products at a low enough cost to still be profitable and take the pesky shipping and warehousing problems out of your business. Brilliant! But I'm guessing all wholesale suppliers are not created equal. Right?

Unfortunately, you are correct. You have to be careful when looking for drop shippers, as some are unreliable and your reputation as a seller will suffer. Some companies that claim to be drop shippers are actually middlemen, meaning that part of your profit margin will go to someone else. You can lose a ton of money, very quickly if you get hooked up with a fake supplier.

Here is a list of reputable Wholesalers to get you started:

  • Worldwide Brands Will work with home-based business owners. They research THOUSANDS of Wholesale Suppliers every year and FIND those suppliers who WILL work with you. They are the only wholesale source that is an eBay® Certified Solution Provider and a member of the Better Business bureau.

You may be wondering if the eBay® opportunity has past. After all, eBay® has been around for quite awhile now. My response to that is, how could it be? As long as this ole world is around, people will never be finished buying; they'll never be able to find all the things they want locally and will continue to rely on online businesses to provide products they want at the most affordable prices. With the world's population increasing and the internet's reach ever expanding, the market will do nothing but grow.

While eBay® is actually easy to understand, if you want to really succeed on eBay®, there are some things you need to know and mistakes you'll want to avoid. Here are some resources that offer quality information without emptying your wallet in the process.
