Pay Per Click - How to make money Advertising . . . when you don't even have a product!
Did you know with Google AdWords, you can make money, even if you don't have a product to sell? Well you can - and there are thousands of people, all over the world, doing just that. So, what's the secret? You become an affiliate (go to Affiliate Marketing for a brief over-view).
For example, did you know some mortgage companies will pay up to $40 for every person you send to their website - your prospect doesn't even have to take out a mortgage in order for you to get paid; they just have to fill out the form. There are lots of other businesses that want you as an affiliate; do a search on Google for affiliate. You'll be astounded by what you'll find!
Now in case you've been living 'on another planet' for the last couple of years, AdWords are the little boxes running down the right side of the search engine results page when you do a search. They are paid advertisements and your goal as the advertiser is obviously to get your ad as near the top of the search results page as possible, so that as many people as possible will see your ad.
You simply write a short advertisement, with a catchy title and two lines of text and refer the buyer to your website or landing page to further sell your prospect on the product. From there you move the prospect on to the product sales page via your unique affiliate URL. As long as the sale is ultimately made via your unique ID link, the commission from that sale goes to you.
Now the first thing you need to do when writing your ad is to determine what the average person might type into a search engine if they were looking for your product. Let's look at the mortgage example again. Your prospect might decide to use "best mortgage rates" or "mortgages in Missouri".
These phases are better known as keywords or key phrases, and you bid for these words or phrases on Google. The amount you bid is the amount you are prepared to pay each time someone clicks on your ad. Bids start at $0.05, so if you get a keyword for $0.05 and you get 50 clicks on your ad, it costs you 50 x $0.05, or $2.50.
So if your product has a well written sales page, approximately 1% to 3% of the people you send to that website will buy or fill out the form or do what ever it takes for you to get paid. Let's say 2% sign-up, paying $ 10.00 per lead, of the 50 click you received, your net profit would be $ 7.50. (One $10 lead minus $ 2.50 in clicks).
Now let's say you average 100 clicks a day and you have 10 ad campaigns going for various products this month, that's approximately $4500 profit. Not too shabby.
