So what sort of features should you be looking for in hosting services?  Well some of the obvious things are disk space and bandwidth vs. price.  These are things almost all the services list up front.   It's all the things they don't list that'll get you in end.

What about customer support?  Will your service provide 24x7 customer support? If you're going to have a problem and need to talk to support, trust me, it will never be between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Okay, so you think you've found the perfect service  --  what about six months from now? Six months from now your business has grown and you've decided to add RSS Feed to your website . . . or you want to start a forum.  Can your hosting service handle that?

'Host Gator' has the disk space, bandwidth, and support, 24/7, you'll need to get your website up and running.  But more importantly, it provides you the ability to move your business forward without the hassle of having to change to another service.

Lest I begin to sound like a commercial for Host Gator, there are a few things they could improve on. Customer Service/Support with Host Gator isn't the greatest. The good news is you can reach them 24/7, the bad news is they seem to be of the caliber of the average hosting companies customer service department.   (That's not really a compliment.)   But, you're probably not going to find many better than that either.  It would also be nice if they offered discounts for paying annually rather than month to month, like most hosting companies do.  

All and all, with that said, 'Host Gator' provides a good service, with all the features you'll need at a reasonable price.  With blog, forum and RSS Feed capabilities you'll be prepared for growth opportunities as they present themselves.
